The Germans threw up a hasty line of defense near the town of Karachev as their panzer forces tried to cover the retreat of the infantry. The 12th Guards Breakthrough Tank Regiment was ordered to attack this last defense in front of the German line across the neck of the Orel bulge.
Objectives: Your company is deployed north of the objective, and will move south to crush the strongpoints erected by the Fascists along the river and in the village. Your platoon is deployed in the center of the company battleline, and will move south down the road to the village objective. The flanking platoons of your company will support your thrust into the village. A battery of SU-152 Mechanized Guns is deployed to the right flank of the company, and will support the attack.
